Voices at the opening

The hall on 1 October held more than one office. The chair, speaking for the association, told the story of the ground that colleges would not give, and of the Sangha that did. He introduced Sourabh J. Sarkar as Mahacharya and as State President of Bharatiya Krishak Samaj, and he spoke of science in the farming of the Gangetic plain. Swami Shanti Maharaj welcomed the districts, named the imperfect lodging, and returned yoga to yuj: to join, and to bring the mind under control.

Kalyan Mukhopadhyay, the retired IPS officer, spoke of body, mind and bearing, and of police who stand from morning into the afternoon heat and are still expected to stay restrained. He asked people in Yogasana to work with the police. Supriyo Mukherjee, asked to help the meet be seen, compared kabaddi’s path from a village game to a paid public sport, and said he would look at competitive Yogasana. He announced no result of this meet. Rina-ji said practice continues whether or not anyone wins. Major Saheb quoted Rabindranath, named the four paths, left the English line “I for Illness, We for Wellness,” and closed with the peace chant. The thanks then turned to Papiya Bhattacharya (Roy), General Secretary. The four days tell these speeches in the order they were given.
